There is a story about how we ended up with JJ…

In 2017, Mike and I attended Crufts in an effort to finalize whether the Papillon might be the right breed for us. We had been breeding Rottweilers successfully for over 25 years under the Esmond Rottweilers prefix, but felt it was time to add a smaller dog to our family.

And JJ was the perfect addition! So, how did he end up in Canada?

While at Crufts, I fell in love with a young dog immediately upon seeing him walk into the ring. That dog turned out to be BIS BISS #1 Japan, IntCh, MultiCh Queen Bless JP Pure Cherry Matthew. Above is JJ (right), pictured with his sire Matthew (left).

I couldn’t stop thinking about Matthew and reached out to Chie several times. Eventually, a common friend, connected us and helped Chie and I forge a relationship – Thanks Kim! Chie and I began working together to identify the right pup. In the end, it was JJ!

Thank you to Chie for handling JJ to his wins and to his FCI International Championship while in Asia. We are so grateful to Chie for ensuring that our first Papillon is an excellent representation of the breed in type, temperament and health.
